The Town of Lincoln Ontario recently held its third successful job fair! The job fair is one of the initiatives aimed at fostering economic prosperity and facilitating connections between local employers and talented job seekers. The event, hosted by the Town’s Economic Development Office, took place on March 27, 2024, at Great Lakes Christian High School with some 400 attendees and representation from 28 local businesses.
Mayor Sandra Easton expressed enthusiasm for the ongoing success of these initiatives, stating, “Last night’s gathering was a true testament to the vibrancy of our community. Witnessing the enthusiasm from both job seekers and local businesses reaffirms our commitment to fostering an environment where opportunities exist for all.”
Councillor JD Pachereva, Chair of the Economic Development Committee, shared, “Engaging with attendees and businesses, we felt the positivity reverberating throughout the room. These job fairs serve as crucial touchpoints for bridging the gap between talent and opportunity, and it’s heartwarming to see the impact they continue to have on our community.”
Paul Di Ianni, Director of Economic Development and Communications, stated, “Last night’s job fair was truly a success, echoing the sentiments of numerous businesses and attendees who expressed their gratitude for the event. We’re thrilled to receive such reassuring feedback and are grateful for the opportunity to facilitate meaningful connections within our community. We look forward to continuing vital initiatives like this one, as they play a pivotal role in our ongoing commitment to enhancing opportunities for all.”
The job fair stems from the Town’s broader Work in Lincoln initiative, a purposeful plan to grow our local economy and workforce to ensure economic prosperity and growth for all. The Work in Lincoln initiative leverages digital platforms, such as the Work in Lincoln website, to facilitate ongoing connections between employers and job seekers. The website allows local businesses to post job openings, and job seekers can easily apply and join the resume database, all at no cost to our users.
Exceeding expectations and building on the resounding success of its previous job fairs, this latest event demonstrates the Town’s dedication to nurturing a dynamic workforce.
