Lincoln’s Commitment to Road Safety: Successful Enforcement Blitz

On July 19, 2024, the Town of Lincoln teamed up with the Niagara Regional Police Service, Halton Regional Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Ministry of Transportation for a significant enforcement blitz targeting commercial motor vehicle safety.

This collaboration highlights Lincoln’s steadfast dedication to roadway safety, addressing the rise in commercial vehicle traffic in key areas and residential neighborhoods. The main aim of these initiatives is to catch commercial vehicles that bypass the Vineland Inspection Station on the QEW and ensure they comply with Ontario’s road safety standards.

These efforts align with the Council’s goal to divert truck traffic from downtown areas to roads better suited for larger vehicles, supporting local businesses and the economy.

Mayor Sandra Easton emphasized the success of these blitzes, stating, “Our joint enforcement efforts are crucial for road safety and resident well-being. We will continue to collaborate with our partners to keep Lincoln safe.”

Councillor Tony Brunet noted, “Our regional partnerships show our dedication to traffic safety, and the results speak for themselves.”
